The mission of the RCOE/HPC Community Counseling program is to develop a community of practice that will support graduate students enrolled in HPC courses to move from novice towards entry level mental health practitioners through the process of socially meaningful activities that develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become effective, ethical and competent counselors with diverse clients across the human spectrum.

Program Highlights

  • Being a full-time student, you can expect to complete the 60 credit hours between 2 and 3 years without thesis; 54 credit hours with thesis. Part-time students are also admitted into the program

Degree Admission Essentials

Concentrations: Addiction Counseling; Body Centered Therapy; Expressive Arts; General; Marriage and Family Counseling

Location of instruction: On campus; an off-campus cohort may be considered for 2009

Required Entrance Exam: GRE (score must be no more than 5 years old)

Required Number of References to specify in the on-line form: 3

Basic Criteria for Consideration: GPA 3.0 and GRE scores; OR GPA 2.7 and GRE Verbal + GRE Quantitative = 800.
