Students may enter the Library Science program with any undergraduate major. There are two (2) program tracks in Library Science at the Master's degree level.
Program Highlights
- School Media Track leads to the 076 North Carolina Media Coordinator lucensure for K-12 school librarians. Those with a previous "A" level teacher certification follow a 39 hour master's program. Students who have never been certified as a teacher can pursue the 51 hour master's program to earn degree and "M" level licensure. Students who have previously earned a Master's degree in another educational field may be able to complete a 30-33 hour school media licensure track.
- Public Library Track leads to the North Carolina public librarian certification.
- Students may also pursue both School Media licensure and Public Library certification simultaneously (Dual Track).
