The Grant Writer’s Toolbox provides support to faculty and administration in obtaining funding for research projects, creative activities and scholarly endeavors. Internal and external resources are provided as well as helpful tips on how to research and locate grants.
Where to Start?
The first step is to identify organizations that offer funding for your specific needs. Listed in the Grant Writer’s Toolbox is an extensive catalog of federal and state agencies that are easily accessible. Internal opportunities and funding opportunity databases are available to aid in your search.
University Resources
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs offers a variety of resources and services to support faculty and administration during the grant writing process. Additional support is provided by the Hubbard Center, and the Carol Grotnes Belk Library and Information Commons.

The Writing Process
The Grant Writer’s Toolbox offers tips for composing successful proposals, recommendations on developing a budget, a Glossary of Terms for defining specific needs and external resources that simplify the writing process.
Post-Award Services
Provided in the Toolbox is a list of items that require completion while a decision is reached by funding organizations. Once awarded funding, Special Funds Accounting provides services for building accounts and processing expenditures.
