The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs provides support for the research and scholarly endeavors of Appalachian faculty, staff, and students. This support includes assistance in securing external funding, providing internal funding opportunities, and IRB and IACUC administration. Services of ORSP
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) provides a broad range of preaward services to assist Appalachian faculty, staff and students, including:
- Help in searching for funding sources
- Assistance in developing ideas into proposals
- Assistance with developing budgets
- Proofing proposal texts and budgets
- Reproducing and preparing proposals for mailing
- FedEx mailing supplied
- Contract negotiation
- Training for Community of Science (COS) database
- Resource library of funding sources
- Periodic proposal writing workshops and funding agency presentations
- Travel support for faculty to meet with agency officials
- IRB and IACUC review
