Available Graduate Assistantship Positions

Assistantship Available in the Health Professions Advising Office (Spring 2010) - Apply by November 30

The Health Professions Advising Office is currently searching for a graduate assistant (20 hrs per week) for the Spring 2010 semester. Individual must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, be detail oriented, and familiar with Microsoft Office. Duties include assisting students with information concerning pre-professional health professions admissions processes, development of a HPA alumni network and database, development of a local practitioner database, conducting workshops, assisting in the coordination of the HPAE Committee Interviews, helping represent the HPA office at various university events, and other duties as assigned. Pay is $4000 for the semester. Resident Director Assistantship Available (2009-2010) - Immediate Opening

Housing and Residence Life currently has an opening for a graduate assistantship as a residence director. This residence directors (RDs) position will supervise 4 resident assistants and oversee a ~100-student residence hall. In addition, all RDs advise a hall government and facilitate a community-building process for the building. RDs typically work 25 hours/week. The RD lives in a free and furnished apartment in the residence hall and is provided with a meal plan, reserved parking space, cable TV connection, phone line, and high speed internet. RDs are paid an additional stipend of $9,000. Anticipated start date is November 16, 2009. Graduate Assistantship for Night Stars Available (Spring 2010)

The Department of Housing and Residence Life is accepting applications for a graduate assistantship, available January 2010. Applications will be reviewed immediately. The position, Graduate Assistant for Night Stars, is a live-off position that requires 20 hours per week and pays a stipend of $4500 each semester. Assistantship Available in the Office of Disability Services (Spring 2010)

The Office of Disability Services (ODS) is currently searching for a graduate assistant (20 hours per week) for the spring 2010 semester. Individual must possess excellent interpersonal skills, patience, organizational skills, be detail oriented and have the desire work with individuals who have disabilities. Duties would include overseeing the Alternate Testing Program, working one-on-one with students as needed, daily office management, and conducting workshops. Pay is $3,500.00 for the semester. Assistantships Available in Leadership and Educational Studies (2009-2010)

Five 20-hour, graduate assistantships are available with the department of Leadership and Educational Studies with a salary $9,300. Responsibilities will include: working with department faculty on various projects and research, assisting staff with program administration, and providing office administrative support. Assistantship Available with Upward Bound (2009-2010)

This position is funded by an Upward Bound grant focused in areas of math and science and involves working primarily with office staff and high school students during school hours, evenings and on some weekends. Candidate should have prior work experience with high school students in a classroom, camp or after school setting and have an undergraduate degree or be seeking a graduate degree in the field of math or science.
